The river beach of Valhelhas, located in the municipality of Guarda, was elected the best river beach of the year. The vote that decided this result was promotion by the River Beaches Guide.
The public had the opportunity to choose their favorites among various river beach options, expressing their preference through this initiative.
Besides Valhelhas, which reached first place in this vote, other locations were also highlighted. Loriga and the Tapada Grande Reservoir, located in Mina de São Domingos, were other choices of the public in this distinction.
This recognition places Valhelhas in the spotlight in the landscape of river beaches in Portugal, enhancing this inland area of the country and its tourist potential associated with river waters.
