The Municipality of Leiria approved, at the City Council meeting this Monday, September 7, the beginning of the procedure to replant trees destroyed by storm Kristin. The council made this decision to recover the urban tree cover affected by the storm.
Storm Kristin caused significant damage to the municipality's tree heritage, destroying several trees in various areas of the city. The approved procedure aims to restore the lost vegetation.
The municipal executive committed to developing a replanting plan to replace the trees uprooted or damaged by the storm. This initiative comes as a response to the devastating effects of the meteorological phenomenon in the Leiria region.
