Gas price in Europe hits three-year highs due to Middle East conflict

Parpública confirms State entry into REN

Parpública confirmed that the Portuguese State now holds 13.7% of REN, after completing the acquisition of 91.7 million shares in the company responsible for the national electricity and gas networks. The operation, agreed on August 14, was completed after the departure of Pontegadea Inversiones, the investment company of the owner of Zara, making the Portuguese State a reference shareholder with a qualified stake exceeding both the 5% and 10% thresholds of voting rights. The value of the transaction was not officially disclosed, although the Jornal Económico reported that the contract sent to the Court of Auditors indicated a value of 380 million euros.
