INFLATION SLOWS DOWN AGAIN IN AUGUST

The year-on-year inflation rate in Angola fell in August to 8.78%, marking the second consecutive decline below double digits, according to the Angolan National Statistics Institute (INE).

According to the National Consumer Price Index (IPCN), this variation represents a slowdown of 0.55 percentage points compared to the previous month and a decrease of 10.09 percentage points compared to the same period in 2025.

INE indicated that inflation in Angola has maintained a downward trajectory since the series began, showing a trend of sustained slowdown in prices in the country.

The National Statistics Institute is the body responsible for the collection and publication of these statistical data on the Angolan economy.

Gas price in Europe hits three-year highs due to Middle East conflict

Parpública confirms State entry into REN

Parpública confirmed that the Portuguese State now holds 13.7% of REN, after completing the acquisition of 91.7 million shares in the company responsible for the national electricity and gas networks. The operation, agreed on August 14, was completed after the departure of Pontegadea Inversiones, the investment company of the owner of Zara, making the Portuguese State a reference shareholder with a qualified stake exceeding both the 5% and 10% thresholds of voting rights.
