A 22-year-old man was named as a suspect by the GNR for suspected burglary at a residence using a false key, in the town of Alcains, in the municipality of Castelo Branco.
The action took place in the early hours of September 4 and was carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of Castelo Branco and Idanha-a-Nova.
The young man was identified, detained and named as a suspect, with the precautionary measure of periodic appearances at the police station being applied to him.
The GNR states that this type of crime represents a serious risk to the security of homes and appeals to the population to adopt preventive measures, such as periodically changing locks and not disclosing information about goods in residences.
