The International Circuit of Lousada hosts, between September 11 and 13, the Euro RX of Portugal, the event that closes the European Rallycross Championship and will define the European champions of 2026. This edition is particularly historic for marking the first night race in the history of the FIA championship, with the first qualifying session being held under artificial lighting on Friday. There will be 71 drivers in competition.
This year's edition will have a special format, with a double header that includes two complete rounds and two finals, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. The four European titles will be at stake throughout the weekend, increasing the importance of the passage through the Lousada circuit.
In the main category, Euro RX1, the title fight is open between Andreas Bakkerud and Johan Kristoffersson, separated by a narrow margin. The two drivers will compete in two decisive rounds in Lousada, in a weekend where every result could alter the championship standings.
Before the competition, the circuit hosts on Thursday, September 10, the opening ceremony with free entry, which includes a session with drivers and cars, official presentation and DJ Sara Santini. The Municipality of Lousada also provides free entry for secondary school students in the municipality.
