PSP arrests 37-year-old man for possession of prohibited weapon in Mem Martins

The Sintra Police Division of the PSP arrested a 37-year-old man in Mem Martins on suspicion of the crime of possession of a prohibited weapon. The officers were on patrol when they spotted the suspect, who, upon noticing the police presence, showed signs of restlessness and immediately went to a trash bin, where he deposited an object.

Given the suspicious behavior, the authorities decided to approach the individual and check the contents of the trash bin, finding a firearm inside. During the search of the suspect, the officers also located a second firearm, of 7.65 mm caliber, as well as two ammunition rounds, which were seized.

The man was arrested and notified to appear before the competent Judicial Authority, for the purposes of the first judicial interrogation.
