Firefighters arrived at the operations theater in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, in the district of Vila Real, in the Alvão region. The alert was given for a brush fire that broke out in the area.

Authorities mobilized a total of 31 personnel to combat the flames. The deployment includes 5 ground resources and 1 aerial resource for support on the ground.

The fire is occurring during a period of high wildfire risk, a common situation in the Trás-os-Montes region during the hottest months.

Record: third participant dies during Burning Man in US desert

A third person died during the 40th anniversary edition of the Burning Man festival, which ended on Monday (9/7) with the burning of the giant effigy. The victim, not yet identified, died en route to a hospital in Reno, Nevada, about 190 kilometers from the event site in the Black Rock desert. The sheriff of Pershing County confirmed the third death, highlighting that although the festival records an average of one death per year, this edition has already reached a record with three fatalities. The cause of death has not been clarified, and this third death occurs after the death of two participants at the festival site the previous week.
