Huawei continues to lead the smartphone market in China in terms of total sales volume. However, an Apple device managed to surpass all competitors when it comes to the individual best-selling model in the country during the second quarter of 2026.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max was the best-selling smartphone in China during that period, achieving a market share of 6%. This feat is particularly notable given Huawei's strong presence in the Chinese market and the intense competition among manufacturers.
Apple's achievement demonstrates that, despite Huawei's overall dominance in sales volume, Chinese consumers still significantly value the American brand's premium devices, especially in the flagship category represented by the Pro Max model.
This result reflects an interesting dynamic in China's smartphone market, where market leadership does not necessarily translate into dominance in terms of specific models most sought after by consumers.
