New dental CT scanner bets on two focal points

oglobo8 September 2026 at 13:23

The dental equipment company launched PreXion Elite, a CT scanner with two focal points designed to handle high-volume workflows without compromising image quality. The equipment was presented on Friday (4) during Conabro 2026 - Congress of the Brazilian Association of Dental Radiology and Imaging Diagnosis, held in Fortaleza (CE).

The CT scanner combines computed tomography, panoramic, and cephalometry in a 3-in-1 platform manufactured 100% in Brazil. The proposal is to offer specific features for each modality without the integration of technologies compromising diagnostic performance.

The challenge of reconciling image quality and examination volume is at the origin of the equipment's development. Radiologists at dental diagnostic centers need to handle different modalities and demands in increasingly dynamic operations, without the gain in productivity representing a loss of diagnostic accuracy.

The Australian executive defended the reform as "sensible and practical", allowing citizens greater control over the content they view. However, the opposition considered the measure a form of "censorship to freedom of expression", warning of potential impacts on freedom of information on digital platforms.
