Luís Nunes, driver for Nunes Sport from Carrazedo de Montenegro, won the eighth consecutive national title by winning the Boticas Hillclimb, a race he considers his favorite and closest to home. At the wheel of a Škoda Fabia R5, the driver won all runs, both practice and official, adding the sixth victory in six races this season.
The driver stated that he wanted to end the championship in Boticas with a victory, considering this hillclimb as his home race due to its proximity to his hometown and the fact that he has many friends in the region. Luís Nunes guaranteed that he was strong throughout the entire weekend, securing a deserved victory that allowed him to maintain his undefeated streak in the season.
The season has not yet ended and Luís Nunes' team is already preparing for the Arrábida Hillclimb, in Setúbal, which could mark the farewell of the Škoda Fabia R5. The driver explained that he would like to finish there with a victory as well, especially because it will probably be the last race with this car, supported by ARC Sport over the past five years and which allowed him to win five titles.
Luís Nunes' son, Simão Nunes, also won in Boticas in the FPAK Júnior Team category, although he still has to wait for the Arrábida Hillclimb to mathematically confirm the title. The father highlighted the young driver's performance, emphasizing that he is eager to celebrate not only his own eighth title, but also his son's first.
