The Public Prosecutor's Office accused a company based in Spain and two men, aged 32 and 42, of the crimes of aiding illegal immigration and recruiting illegal labor in the municipality of Elvas. The indictment was filed by the Regional Attorney General's Office of Évora.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the defendants promoted the entry into Portugal of immigrants from various countries, including Algeria and Morocco. The facts allegedly occurred between October 2021 and January 2022.
The scheme was described as an activity of aiding illegal immigration and recruiting clandestine labor, which aimed to bring workers to Portuguese territory in an irregular manner.
