The PSP collected this year, in just two months, 265 firearms and almost six thousand ammunitions and cartridges. This number represents more than the total collected in the operations carried out in the previous two years.
The operation took place under the national initiative called "Safe Weapons – Summer Tour". This campaign aims to collect weapons and ammunitions from the population, encouraging the voluntary surrender of war material.
The PSP released these data this Wednesday, without specifying the exact dates of the operation or the locations where the collections were made. The campaign remains active to collect more material from the Portuguese population.
