Construction costs for new houses increased by 6.8% in July, year-on-year, according to an estimate from the National Statistics Institute. This value represents a decrease of 0.6 percentage points compared to the rate recorded in the previous month.
Construction materials rose by 6.3%, while labor increased by 7.3%. In June, material prices had stood at 6.4%.
The data is published by the New Housing Construction Cost Index, which measures the evolution of costs in the residential construction sector in Portugal.
