Festival Bicho d'Pêssego promotes concerts with premieres of original works in Funchal

The first edition of the Bicho d'Pêssego Festival, dedicated to contemporary music, will take place on September 11 and 12 in Funchal. The initiative is organized by Bicho d'Pêssego — Madeira Cultural Association, with the support of the Funchal City Council.

The festival will bring concerts to three spaces in the city, with premieres of original works in all of them. The Museu Henrique e Francisco Franco hosts the first initiative, at 6 PM on September 11, with a concert by Victor Teixeira.

Corn Festival celebrates Brazilian culture on the riverside area of Portimão

The 10th edition of the Corn Festival takes place from September 11 to 13 on the riverside area of Portimão, celebrating Brazilian tradition and identity. The event includes a wide gastronomic offering with acarajé, dishes from Bahia, Pará and Goiás, pastel, sugarcane juice, caipirinha and corn-based recipes. The musical programme features artists such as Los Pisadinhas, Alê Borges, Misael Araújo, Vânia Souza and DJ Têaga, as well as samba and pagode circles. The festival was founded by Michelle, who began preparing traditional Brazilian corn-based delicacies such as pamonha and curau, and is organized by the Luso-Brazilian association PEM, with support from the Portimão municipality and Algarve Tourism.
