Exhibition "Ritual Bodies" Opens in Loulé on September 18th

Alfaia, in Loulé, inaugurates on September 18th "Ritual Bodies", an exhibition curated by David Revés and Nicolai Sarbib, bringing together works by Christine Henry (Porto, 1958) and Joana Coelho (Lisbon, 1998). The exhibition brings together two artists from different generations whose practices find resonances in the relationship between body, nature, animality and memory, exploring ritual as an ancestral form of relationship with the unknown. Christine Henry, based in the Algarve since 1981, develops multidisciplinary work spanning photography, painting, sculpture, installation and video. Joana Coelho mainly starts from drawing to construct interior landscapes and hybrid figures where mind, body and spirit intersect. The exhibition will be on display until November 7th.
