The Mario Nandayapa Quartet, a Mexican quartet, will perform next Saturday in Vila Nova de Milfontes, in the municipality of Odemira. The group specializes in playing the marimba, a musical instrument of Mesoamerican origin.

The presentation takes place at Fort of São Clemente, a cultural space located in this Alentejo village. The concert promises to be a unique sonic experience, given the unusual format of the musical ensemble.

The marimba used by the group is large and will be played with eight hands, that is, by the four musicians simultaneously. This particularity allows creating complex sound textures and elaborate arrangements, characteristic of the Mexican quartet's style.
