Elton John closed the program of the first weekend of Rock in Rio 2026, which ran from Friday to Monday, taking advantage of the September 7th holiday. The event featured performances by major artists like Foo Fighters and Bring Me The Horizon (BMTH), as well as other international and national names.
The GLOBO newspaper critics analyzed all the festival's shows, both those held at Cidade do Rock and those watched on television at the newsroom. The ranking prepared by the professionals allows us to note that the in-person experience and watching on TV can be quite different.
BaianaSystem's show exemplifies this difference: while the newsroom team loved the performance, the team present at Cidade do Rock was affected by pepper spray that harmed the experience in the final stretch of the show.
In the case of Roupa Nova, the emotion touched the people who attended the show in person, while remotely some numbers seemed uninspired, such as when the band sang the event's theme song.
