The Government admitted it may support the operation of a new service from Padre Miguel Social Work, intended for users in situations of greater dependence. The possibility was discussed during a visit by the Secretary of State for Social Action and Inclusion, Clara Marques Mendes, to the institution.

The visit took place on Saturday and served for the Secretary of State to learn about the recent works carried out at the institution. Clara Marques Mendes went to the location to learn about the current state of the infrastructure and the work developed by Padre Miguel Social Work.

During the visit, the future of a new structure aimed at meeting the needs of users in situations of greater dependence was also discussed. The government expressed openness to supporting the operation of this new social service from the institution.

Padre Miguel Social Work is an institution that provides support to people in vulnerable situations, and the possible creation of this new service comes in the context of a reinforcement of social responses for people with greater dependence.
