PISA Slump: The Valencian Community at the Bottom in Both Science and Reading

The PISA report (Programme for the International Assessment of Students) placed the Valencian Community as one of the worst autonomous communities in Spain in educational terms. This international assessment measures the competencies of 15-year-old students.

The results show an accentuated regression in science, mathematics and reading comprehension. Valencian students obtained 450 points in science, 424 in reading and 435 in mathematics.

These figures fall below both the national averages and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, evidencing the difficulties of the Valencian educational system compared to other Spanish regions and OECD countries.
