Air raid sirens continue to sound in Kiev as Russia resumed its attacks against Ukraine. The three-day ceasefire that had been established between the two countries came to an end, marking an escalation in tension between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
The resumption of attacks occurred after the visit of two American envoys to the region. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, special envoys from the United States, had held talks with Russian and Ukrainian representatives during the period of suspension of hostilities.
The diplomatic meetings held during the visit of the American envoys failed to establish lasting peace between the parties. With the termination of the suspension agreement, Russian attacks again struck the Ukrainian capital and other regions of the country.
