Portuguese 15-year-old students achieved their worst ever results in the Reading test of the PISA programme, worsening a downward trajectory that already represents more than one year of study lost. Students also declined in Mathematics and Science subjects, reversing gains obtained in previous assessments.
The data belongs to the new edition of PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment), the largest international education study, conducted by the OECD. The assessment involved more than 760,000 students from 91 countries and economies.
The information was released today, revealing bad news for Portugal in the context of this international assessment.
