Montalegre hosted this weekend the 6th edition of the Ibérico Bike Race, a mountain biking competition that brought together athletes and enthusiasts of the sport for a challenge that tested the physical capacity and endurance of participants. The event once again transformed the trails of the Barroso territory into a stage of endurance, adrenaline, and overcoming.
Throughout the routes, sport intersected with nature and with the identity of Barroso. Participants faced demanding trails, elevation changes, and landscapes characteristic of the region, in an event that affirmed the connection between mountain biking and a territory particularly suited for this type of sporting practice.
More than a competition, the event provided moments of fellowship between athletes, organizers, and the public, reinforcing the significance of an initiative that has been gaining prominence in Montalegre's sports calendar. The award ceremony closed the edition, honoring the athletes who stood out most during the competition.
The Ibérico Bike Race thus leaves Montalegre with another edition completed and reinforces the municipality's capacity to host events that place sports, nature, and territorial enhancement on the same path. The event was covered by journalist Paulo Silva Reis.
