A 70-year-old man, a neighbor of the victims, was arrested by the Judicial Police in Sintra on suspicion of sexual crimes against four children. The investigation operation lasted several months before the arrest.
Authorities do not rule out the possibility of there being more victims beyond the four children already identified. The suspect was brought before a court and awaits trial in preventive custody.
The case is being monitored by the Public Prosecutor's Office, which continues to investigate any other crimes committed by the suspect in the same residential area.
