The selection of sambas-enredo for Carnival 2027 is entering its final stretch in Rio de Janeiro. The traditional samba-enredo circle at Baródromo, in Maracanã, North Zone, which usually dedicates itself to historical themes of carnival parades, has already presented the anthem that Mangueira will defend on the Avenue in 2027. The composition was by Lequinho in partnership with five other authors and was chosen the day before, at the green and pink school's headquarters.

On the same Saturday, Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel also announced the song it will bring to Sapucaí the following year. The day before, it was Portela's turn to reveal its samba-enredo. By next weekend, four more Special Group schools will have their sambas defined and known to the public.

The selection process is expected to be completed by the 20th, when all schools that have not yet defined their songs will have resolved the issue. The selection calendar is following an accelerated pace, with each school revealing its compositions at events held at their respective headquarters.
