The Lisbon Stock Exchange opened Tuesday's session, September 8, with a gain of 0.15% to 9,432.07 points, managing to escape the losses recorded in the main European stock indices, which started the day in the red. Oil continued to rise, with Brent approaching 99 dollars and crude trading above 94 dollars.
The biggest gains on the Portuguese stock exchange were recorded in Galp Energia, which gained 1.69% to 21.07 euros, followed by Jerónimo Martins with an advance of 0.77% to 18.25 euros, and Semapa, which rose 0.73% to 20.75 euros. Also in the green were Teixeira Duarte, Navigator, REN and NOS.
Trading in the red were Banco Comercial Português, which fell 0.65% to 1.15 euros, CTT which broke 0.39% to 6.37 euros, and Corticeira Amorim, which lost 0.29% to 6.97 euros. Sonae, Ibersol, EDP Renováveis and EDP were also down.
In the European context, the German DAX fell 0.13%, the French CAC 40 slipped 0.19% and the British FTSE 100 lost 0.02%, while the Dutch AEX rose 0.13%. Brent oil rose 1.65% to 98.60 dollars and the euro fell 0.07% against the dollar to 1.16159 dollars.
