The Municipality of Boticas will open applications for the Financial Support for the Promotion of Beekeeping for the year 2026, between September 10 and October 20. The decision was approved at a meeting of the Municipal Council held on September 3.
The municipal support fixed is three euros per colony or hive, granted under the Municipal Regulation for the Promotion of Beekeeping in the Municipality of Boticas. The notice was signed by the mayor, Guilherme Pires, and prepared by the Municipal Unit – Office of Support to Parish Councils.
The measure seeks to encourage an activity considered important for the territory at the economic, environmental, and territorial levels. Beekeeping is particularly relevant in rural territories such as Boticas, not only for the production of honey and other hive products, but also for the role of bees in pollination, biodiversity, and the balance of ecosystems.
With this new application period, the local authority aims to continue the policy of support for the beekeeping sector and strengthen the connection between the activity and the enhancement of the municipality's endogenous resources.
