Justice Distributes More Than 24 Thousand Computer Equipment by December

Notícias Portugal8 September 2026 at 09:23

The Ministry of Justice announced the beginning of the distribution of more than 24 thousand new computer equipment units to Justice bodies, in an operation that will run until December 2026. This investment, which exceeds 17 million euros, is fully funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan and includes laptops, desktop computers, and monitors. The initiative is considered one of the largest of its kind in the sector's history.

According to the Minister of Justice, Rita Alarcão Júdice, the modernization of Justice services is fundamental to guarantee better working conditions for professionals who work daily in the courts. In total, 24,548 equipment units will be distributed to serve 13 Justice bodies, including courts, the Center for Judicial Studies, and the Judicial Police.

At the same time, the General Directorate for the Administration of Justice has already acquired more than 9 thousand monitors targeted at magistrates and prosecutors. This joint effort aims not only to modernize the computer infrastructure, but also to strengthen system security and increase the mobility of judicial professionals.

The strategy was developed based on a thorough assessment of the needs of each body, ensuring that the acquisition met the specific demands of each sector. The renewal of equipment promises to improve the efficiency and functionality of legal work, contributing to a more agile and accessible Justice system.
