Over 1,700 pregnant women or people on parental leave without contract renewal in 2025

Over 1,700 pregnant women or people on parental leave had their employment contracts not renewed in 2025. This situation was officially reported, revealing a significant number of affected pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding workers.

In total, 1,777 notifications of non-renewal of fixed-term contracts involving these workers and workers on parental leave were recorded during the past year.

This figure represents a decrease compared to the previous year. In 2024, 1,894 notifications of non-renewal of fixed-term contracts had been recorded, meaning that in 2025 there was a reduction of 117 cases compared to the previous year.
