SMAS de Leiria will buy generators and invest in communications

The Municipal Water and Sanitation Services (SMAS) of Leiria will proceed with the purchase of generators and invest in communications. This decision comes as a response to the impacts caused by storm Kristin earlier this year.

Storm Kristin significantly affected the municipality of Leiria, causing interruptions and problems in local infrastructure. The investment now announced aims precisely to strengthen the response capacity of SMAS in similar situations in the future.

With the acquisition of generators, SMAS intends to ensure the functioning of essential services during power outages. The investment in communications aims to improve coordination and information to the population in cases of emergency.
