Famalicão: former councilor received half a million in contracts since leaving office

Durval Tiago Ferreira was a councilor for the municipality of Famalicão between 2001 and 2009. Since he ceased his local government functions, he has provided legal services to the council for which he was previously elected, through service contracts.

The former councilor received around half a million euros in contracts since leaving the councilor position in 2009. His professional activity as a legal consultant for the municipality has continued from 2011 to the present day.

This case raises questions about the transition of politicians to external consultants for the same institutions where they held political positions, in a municipality that continues to use the services of the former councilor.
