The Metropolitan Archbishop of Braga, H.E. José Cordeiro, presided on Sunday, September 13, over the traditional Archpresbyteral Procession in honor of Our Lady of Viso, in Celorico de Basto. The event brought together the local communities in a moment of great devotion.
The religious program began at 11:00 AM with the celebration of the Eucharist, which was presided over by Father Leonel Claro, a Comboni missionary. This Mass marked the beginning of the day's religious activities dedicated to the patron saint.
In the afternoon, at 5:30 PM, the procession took place through the streets of Celorico de Basto, gathering the faithful around the image of Our Lady of Viso. The celebration featured the presence of the Archbishop of Braga at the head of the procession.
The archpresbyteral event represents an important religious tradition for the communities of Celorico de Basto, who gathered to honor the Virgin Mary under the invocation of Our Lady of Viso.
