A First Alert Dispatch was issued for a brushfire in the municipalities of Viana do Castelo, Arcos de Valdevez, and Padroso. The alert indicates that the situation requires attention but has not yet reached proportions that justify a larger-scale dispatch.
The fire broke out in vegetation, specifically brush, according to the nature indicated in the dispatch. Authorities mobilized ground resources to combat the flames in the region.
Five operatives and one ground vehicle were deployed for this operation. No aerial resources were requested for this initial phase of intervention.
The First Alert Dispatch represents a preventive measure that allows local and regional authorities to mobilize resources in a coordinated manner before escalating to a larger-scale dispatch, should the situation require it.
