U.S. federal investigators recovered the black boxes from an Amazon cargo plane that ran off the runway after landing at Miami International Airport. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Chair Jennifer Homendy confirmed that both devices — the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder — were recovered and sent to the board for analysis.

The accident occurred on Sunday, when the Amazon-operated Boeing 767-300 cargo plane ran off the runway while attempting to land in Miami. The aircraft crossed a road beyond the runway limits and caught fire.

According to Miami Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, at least five people died and more than five were injured, three in critical condition. On Monday, Jennifer Homendy also spoke about additional information regarding the fatalities.

60 years later, Sintra remembers the 25 soldiers killed in the great fire of 1966

Sessra commemorated the 60 years since the great 1966 fire in the Serra de Sintra, which consumed approximately 50 square kilometres of forest and caused the death of 25 soldiers from the Fixed Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment of Queluz, who were fighting the flames without adequate preparation and without aerial support. The commemorative ceremonies included a mass at the Regiment's Chapel and the laying of wreaths of flowers at Pico do Monge, the location where the soldiers were found charred when the fire reached its maximum intensity. The ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant-General Morgado Silveira and was attended by the mayor of Sintra, Marco Almeida, and the Bishop of the Armed Forces.
