Many of those displaced by the flood in Nepal found refuge in Buddhist monasteries in Kathmandu. The flood forced numerous families to abandon their homes and seek temporary shelter in these religious spaces.

The victims hope that the Nepali government will help in the reconstruction of their homes destroyed by the flood. No official measures have been announced by the authorities yet.

Sessra commemorated the 60 years since the great 1966 fire in the Serra de Sintra, which consumed approximately 50 square kilometres of forest and caused the death of 25 soldiers from the Fixed Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment of Queluz, who were fighting the flames without adequate preparation and without aerial support. The commemorative ceremonies included a mass at the Regiment's Chapel and the laying of wreaths of flowers at Pico do Monge, the location where the soldiers were found charred when the fire reached its maximum intensity. The ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant-General Morgado Silveira and was attended by the mayor of Sintra, Marco Almeida, and the Bishop of the Armed Forces.
