The Portuguese Government will meet with all political parties in the context of the preparation of the State Budget for 2027 (OE2027). This initiative arises within the framework of the elaboration and discussion process of the budget document.

The executive's proposal must be submitted to the Assembly of the Republic by October 10, thus complying with the legal deadline established for the presentation of the State Budget.

André Ventura, leader of the Chega party, stated that the party will maintain dialogue with the Government, even if a motion presented by the party is rejected. This position indicates the intention to maintain cooperation between the parties.

The Portuguese Government today denied accusations that it is profiting from rising fuel prices, calling them unfair, and announced the reinforcement of ERSE's (Energy Services Regulatory Authority) sanctioning powers. The Minister of Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho, stated in Lisbon that the measures adopted demonstrate that the Executive is not taking advantage of the situation, adding that since February 26, the revenue collected from the VAT increase has been used to lower fuel prices.
