The Criminal Instruction Court of Portimão fully confirmed the Public Prosecutor's accusation against four defendants, who will be tried for a fraudulent scheme in the Algarve. Apparently, the scheme involved the sale of houses that were not for sale, the use of fake sellers and the taking out of credits without the knowledge of the owners.
The four defendants face a total of 133 crimes, as charged by the Public Prosecutor. The criminal instruction court in Portimão decided to indict all defendants on the crimes they were accused of, moving forward to the trial phase.
The scheme allegedly involved various fraudulent practices, including the creation of false identities to simulate property sales and the contracting of loans in the name of third parties without their authorization. These activities reportedly occurred in the Algarve region, an area known for its active real estate market.
The Public Prosecutor considered the facts supporting the accusation proven, leading to their full confirmation by the Criminal Instruction Court. The case will now proceed to trial, where the defendants will have the opportunity to defend themselves against the 133 charges against them.
