A man was arrested by the Judicial Police on suspicion of committing scams against elderly people in the municipalities of Barreiro and Baixa da Banheira, in the district of Setúbal.
The suspect is suspected of posing as a technician from a water or electricity company to deceive the victims, who were elderly people. Through this method, he managed to gain access to the victims' homes.
The scams occurred in various residences in these areas, where the alleged scammer managed to deceive the elderly and appropriate cash amounts.
The operation that led to the suspect's arrest was carried out by the Judicial Police of Setúbal, who proceeded with his capture and subsequent presentation to court for initial judicial questioning.
