The Left Bloc (BE) accused the Government of letting fuel prices rise, defending the implementation of a price cap for fuels on the mainland, similar to the mechanism already in place in the Azores and Madeira. The left-wing party considers that this price control measure should be applied to the entire national territory. The BE thus intends to curb the increase in fuel prices that has been affecting Portuguese consumers. This proposal comes in a context of debate about the cost of living and the need to protect Portuguese families from constant increases in energy and fuel prices.
