Presidential candidate Augusto Cury (Avante) gathered supporters at an "Independence Walk" in Copacabana on Monday. Standing on a sound truck, the writer spoke out against the country's polarization and launched catchphrases in defense of the Brazilian family.
At the end of the event, Cury sent support to minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF). "I wanted to send a special hug to minister André Mendonça," the candidate stated, without elaborating on the matter.
The declaration occurred amid escalating tensions at the STF following developments caused by the new revelation of conversations between banker Daniel Vorcaro, of Master, and minister Alexandre de Moraes, also of the Supreme Court.
