The Left Bloc challenged the Government to apply to mainland territory a fuel price regulation mechanism similar to what exists in the autonomous regions. The sole MP from the Left Bloc, Andreia Galvão, sent a question to the Ministry of Finance on this matter.
In the question directed to the Ministry of Finance, Andreia Galvão asks whether the executive "is considering applying, as proposed by the Left Bloc, a national price regulation mechanism equivalent to that of the Autonomous Regions". The MP highlighted that, on the Monday of that week, the price of gasoline saw the biggest jump in four years.
The Left Bloc highlights that the autonomous regions of the Azores and Madeira already have mechanisms for regulating fuel prices, unlike the mainland. This difference between territories is the focus of the party's proposal to correct what the Left Bloc considers an inequality in fuel pricing policy in Portugal.
