The Kremlin stated that it "does not exclude" the resumption of trilateral negotiations between Moscow, Kyiv and Washington to find a solution for the war in Ukraine. The statement came after the visit of US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Russia.
The Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, told the media that "any attempt constitutes a step forward," arguing that the trilateral format can be resumed. However, Peskov considered that "it is still too early to discuss the specific venue and dates" for any potential negotiations.
Previous talks between Moscow, Kyiv and Washington were interrupted, but the visit of the American representatives reignited the possibility of multilateral dialogue to try to end the conflict. The Russian position remains cautious, with no concrete commitments on when or where new negotiations could take place.
