Lula participates in the September 7th parade with Fachin, Motta and Alcolumbre, but the STF wing closest to the president is absent

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva participates in the September 7th parade in Brasília alongside the presidents of the Supreme Federal Court, Edson Fachin, of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, and of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta, as well as the director-general of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues. Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and several government ministers are also present at the event, which has national sovereignty as one of its mottos. As is customary, all members of the Court were invited to the event.

With the STF in crisis, the group of ministers closest to Lula did not attend the parade. Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who participated in the event in 2024, is in a public confrontation with colleague André Mendonça and was absent this year. Gilmar Mendes and Flávio Dino are out of Brasília and also did not participate. The absence of these ministers occurs amid an internal crisis at the court.
