The ADN party defends that the Regional Government of Madeira should adapt the Model for Independent Living Support (MAVI) to the region, which already provides personal assistance for students with disabilities in Higher Education. The objective is to ensure that these students have access to adequate support during their university studies.
ADN considers that this measure should have public funding and individual assessment of each case, in order to ensure the necessary support for each student. The coordination between the Institute of Social Security of Madeira and the University of Madeira is pointed out as essential for the correct implementation of this initiative.
The party emphasizes that the cost of indispensable support should not be transferred to the families of students with disabilities, defending that it is the responsibility of public authorities to guarantee this type of support to students who need it in the context of Higher Education.
