BE wants the Azores Budget for 2027 to address the rising cost of living

Açoriano Oriental7 September 2026 at 15:22

The Left Block advocates that the Regional Budget of the Azores for 2027 should prioritize combating the rising cost of living in the region. The coordinator of BE in the Azores, António Lima, was the voice of this position, stating that the budget document must respond to the economic difficulties faced by Azoreans.

Among the measures advocated by BE are reducing fuel prices, which represents a significant expense for residents on the islands, and strengthening the incomes of Azorean families. These measures aim to mitigate the impact of the generalized increase in prices in the region.

The party also demands specific measures in the housing area, a sector particularly affected by the rising cost of living. BE understands that the Regional Budget/2027 should include policies that facilitate access to housing for Azoreans.

António Lima presented these demands as fundamental priorities for the next Regional Budget, arguing that the document must be an instrument of concrete response to the needs of the population of the Azores.
