The PSP detained two men on Sunday, September 6th, in the area of Agualva-Cacém, on suspicion of involvement in a drug transaction. The operation was carried out by the 66th Cacém Police Station, during a preventive patrol action.
The officers detected four individuals involved in an apparent narcotics transaction. Upon becoming aware of the police presence, the suspects attempted to flee, with one of them abandoning a package containing a substance suspected of being drugs. All four were eventually intercepted shortly after.
During the proceedings, the PSP found in the suspects' possession 13 individual doses of hashish and 50 euros in cash. A knife with a 12-centimeter blade, which one of the suspects was carrying hidden in his trousers, was also seized.
Given the evidence collected, two individuals were detained and taken to the cells of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command, where they awaited presentation to the competent judicial authority. The PSP states that it will continue to reinforce prevention and drug trafficking combat actions, especially in locations identified as having a higher incidence of this type of criminal activity.
