The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, harshly criticized the Spanish Government for acting "in a cowardly and negligent manner" in Ceuta. The statements were made during an informational breakfast with the president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, at the Nova Economía Fórum.
Ayuso stated that the Executive doesn't know "even who's coming in" Ceuta, despite Spain being on anti-terror alert due to jihadist threat. The leader questioned who entered the country, in what manner, and highlighted that neither the identity nor the criminal records of these people are known.
The regional president also indicated that now the Government will not have "a PP autonomous president to blame," referring to Vivas, who will be responsible for what happens from now on. Ayuso also warned about what lies behind the "carpet that day by day hands over Spain's interests to Morocco."
