Education Councillor Carmen Ortí presented this Monday the main highlights for the beginning of the 2026/27 school year in the province of Castellón. The school year has 98,958 students, representing an increase of 820 students compared to the previous year, when 98,138 students were registered.
This growth contrasts with the general decline in the Valencian Community, which starts the school year with 808,688 students, 955 fewer than the previous year. While Castellón grows, the entire region shows an opposite trend.
The highlights presented by the Education Councillor's office are structured around four axes: teaching staff, students, families, and employment and opportunities. The improvements include the reduction of bureaucracy, the increase in teaching staff, the decrease in ratios, and the boost to infrastructure.
Regarding infrastructure, eight educational centers are in operation in the province of Castellón. These measures are part of the Generalitat's plan to improve the educational system in the region during this school year.
