ASAE received 21 new inspectors to reinforce its operational corps, at a time when the authority faces a significant volume of work. In just eight months, ASAE opened 643 criminal proceedings, representing a considerable increase in activity.
A minister made these declarations, highlighting that ASAE's action must adapt to moments of greater risk. This adaptation is considered essential to effectively respond to situations that require priority attention.
As a concrete example of this need for adaptation, the inspection of possible commercial abuses in Leiria was mentioned. This operation comes following the passage of storm Kristin through the region, suggesting that extreme weather situations can trigger abusive commercial practices.
