EU announces 200 million investment in Greenland and reinforcement of cooperation

The European Union will invest an additional 200 million euros in Greenland and reinforce cooperation with the territory. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced this decision during a press conference in Nuuk, after a two-day visit to Greenland.

The 200 million euro investment will be channeled to projects related to connectivity, renewable energy and raw materials, with its implementation planned for 2026 and 2027.

On this occasion, Ursula von der Leyen defended that only the Danes and Greenlanders decide the island's future, at a time when Greenland has been asserting its autonomy against external pressures.
